Smooth, Natural Surface
The piece is made entirely of solid wood, with swirling grain, knots and rustic tones left visible. Every surface is sanded smooth so it is gentle on small hands, while the shelf keeps the grounded feel of real timber. The tree shape also invites kids to sort and put away their own books.
Safety First
Dense solid wood makes this bookshelf very heavy. It must stand on a level floor and be firmly anchored to the wall to prevent tipping during play.
Each tree is handcrafted to order by a partner artisan workshop, so grain and color vary from piece to piece. Solid wood may also expand or contract slightly as indoor humidity changes with the seasons.
Shipping, returns & care
Shipping is free on U.S. orders of $75 or more; orders under $75 ship for a flat $5.95. We currently ship to U.S. addresses only.
This piece is handcrafted to your order by our partner artisan workshops: about 7-10 days of cutting and carving, then photos of your actual piece for your approval, then about a week of finishing and crating. It ships directly to you with tracking and arrives in another 3-7 business days - about 3-4 weeks in total. Contiguous U.S. only; contact us for Alaska or Hawaii. Full details on our Shipping Policy.
You can change or cancel this made-to-order piece within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund. Before finishing we send photos of your actual piece - once you approve them, it is final sale and cannot be returned for change of mind.
If it arrives damaged or defective, email us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we repair, replace or refund it at no cost to you. Natural variation in grain, knots and colour is part of handmade wood and is not a defect.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. See the full Refund Policy.
Choose your size from the options above; every measurement is listed in the size names and the description. Because each piece is cut from natural wood, grain, knots and colour vary, and large pieces can differ by up to about an inch.
Dust with a soft dry cloth, keep the piece out of standing water and long hours of direct sun, and refresh oiled finishes with a wood oil once or twice a year.
