Sculptural Hand-Carved Monolithic Solid Wood Armchair Frame & Biomorphic Accent Chair
Sculptural Hand-Carved Monolithic Solid Wood Armchair Frame & Biomorphic Accent Chair
Pull this chair into a sunny reading corner, add your favorite cushion, and the room instantly feels calmer. The Sculptural Hand-Carved Monolithic Solid Wood Armchair Frame wraps a barrel back around a wide, recessed seat and rests on broad arched legs.
A Frame Made for Cushions
The seat deck is deep and recessed, ready for a cushion, linen pad or throw of your choosing. The back is angled to cradle you as you settle in. Seat cushion and back pillow are not included, so you can pick the fabric that suits your space.
What Stands Out
- Continuous barrel backrest carved without visible mechanical joints.
- Open side cutouts that let light pass and keep the room airy.
- Massive bridge legs for a grounded, steady seat.
- Clear matte finish that protects against daily wear and humidity.
Care
It is a heavy chair, which is part of why it feels so solid when you sink into it. Dust with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, wipe moisture promptly and skip abrasive chemicals.
Each frame is hand-carved to order, so its grain, honey-teak shade and knots will be unique. No other chair will look quite like yours.
Shipping, returns & care
Shipping is free on U.S. orders of $75 or more; orders under $75 ship for a flat $5.95. We currently ship to U.S. addresses only.
This piece is handcrafted to your order by our partner artisan workshops: about 7-10 days of cutting and carving, then photos of your actual piece for your approval, then about a week of finishing and crating. It ships directly to you with tracking and arrives in another 3-7 business days - about 3-4 weeks in total. Contiguous U.S. only; contact us for Alaska or Hawaii. Full details on our Shipping Policy.
You can change or cancel this made-to-order piece within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund. Before finishing we send photos of your actual piece - once you approve them, it is final sale and cannot be returned for change of mind.
If it arrives damaged or defective, email us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we repair, replace or refund it at no cost to you. Natural variation in grain, knots and colour is part of handmade wood and is not a defect.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. See the full Refund Policy.
Choose your size from the options above; every measurement is listed in the size names and the description. Because each piece is cut from natural wood, grain, knots and colour vary, and large pieces can differ by up to about an inch.
Dust with a soft dry cloth, keep the piece out of standing water and long hours of direct sun, and refresh oiled finishes with a wood oil once or twice a year.
