Sculptural Hand-Carved Monolithic Solid Wood Accent Chair & Biomorphic Lounge Chair
Sculptural Hand-Carved Monolithic Solid Wood Accent Chair & Biomorphic Lounge Chair
Solid wood, carved as one continuous form. The Sculptural Hand-Carved Monolithic Solid Wood Accent Chair wraps a barrel back around a deeply scooped seat. Tapered peg legs grow out of the base.
The Form
Cutouts open the sides and back. Light passes through. Edges are rounded. No mechanical joints show. The grain follows the curve of the frame, and the tone runs to a warm golden teak. Set alone, it reads as sculpture. Placed by a window, it throws soft shapes of light across the floor. The silhouette stays open and airy.
The Seat
- Scooped seat: curved to cradle the body for reading or conversation.
- Wrap-around back: supportive and enclosing.
- Integrated legs: flared and tapered, part of the same form.
- Clear matte finish: protects against wear and humidity.
Care
The chair is heavy and stable. Dust with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Wipe moisture promptly. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Cushions and throws are not included.
Each chair is hand-carved to order. Shade, grain and knots vary. Every one is its own, and yours will differ gently from the photos.

Shipping is free on U.S. orders of $75 or more; orders under $75 ship for a flat $5.95. We currently ship to U.S. addresses only.
This piece is handcrafted to your order by our partner artisan workshops: about 7-10 days of cutting and carving, then photos of your actual piece for your approval, then about a week of finishing and crating. It ships directly to you with tracking and arrives in another 3-7 business days - about 3-4 weeks in total. Contiguous U.S. only; contact us for Alaska or Hawaii. Full details on our Shipping Policy.
You can change or cancel this made-to-order piece within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund. Before finishing we send photos of your actual piece - once you approve them, it is final sale and cannot be returned for change of mind.
If it arrives damaged or defective, email us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we repair, replace or refund it at no cost to you. Natural variation in grain, knots and colour is part of handmade wood and is not a defect.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. See the full Refund Policy.
Choose your size from the options above; every measurement is listed in the size names and the description. Because each piece is cut from natural wood, grain, knots and colour vary, and large pieces can differ by up to about an inch.
Dust with a soft dry cloth, keep the piece out of standing water and long hours of direct sun, and refresh oiled finishes with a wood oil once or twice a year.
