Sculptural Hand-Carved Curvilinear Solid Wood Desk & Bookshelf Combo Unit With Cantilevered Workstation
Sculptural Hand-Carved Curvilinear Solid Wood Desk & Bookshelf Combo Unit With Cantilevered Workstation
Sit down at the Sculptural Hand-Carved Curvilinear Solid Wood Desk and Bookshelf Combo Unit and the room immediately feels softer. One unbroken ribbon of wood forms a bookshelf canopy overhead, curves into a cantilevered writing desk and settles into lower display hollows and a sturdy base.
Why It Feels Different
There are no hard corners or rigid lines here. The solid wood is carved into a continuous curve, with warm honey-oak tones, rounded edges and grain that follows each swell. A waterproof, scratch-resistant matte seal handles daily laptop use and pen pressure.
Everyday Features
- Cantilevered desktop with open legroom and no corner legs
- Curved upper and lower cubbies for books, curios and desk supplies
- Heavy base and trunk footing for steady support
- Custom width, desk height and canopy clearance
Making It Yours
It works in a studio, a study or a quiet reading corner. Left or right desk orientation, stain tones and sheen levels can be chosen for an added fee. A concealed wall bracket comes with it, and fixing the top of the spine to the wall is strongly advised. Dust the curves with a soft cloth and wipe spills promptly. The listing covers the desk and bookshelf structure.
Every unit is handcrafted to order by a partner artisan workshop, so grain, shade and knots will vary from piece to piece.
Shipping, returns & care
Shipping is free on U.S. orders of $75 or more; orders under $75 ship for a flat $5.95. We currently ship to U.S. addresses only.
This piece is handcrafted to your order by our partner artisan workshops: about 7-10 days of cutting and carving, then photos of your actual piece for your approval, then about a week of finishing and crating. It ships directly to you with tracking and arrives in another 3-7 business days - about 3-4 weeks in total. Contiguous U.S. only; contact us for Alaska or Hawaii. Full details on our Shipping Policy.
You can change or cancel this made-to-order piece within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund. Before finishing we send photos of your actual piece - once you approve them, it is final sale and cannot be returned for change of mind.
If it arrives damaged or defective, email us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we repair, replace or refund it at no cost to you. Natural variation in grain, knots and colour is part of handmade wood and is not a defect.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. See the full Refund Policy.
Choose your size from the options above; every measurement is listed in the size names and the description. Because each piece is cut from natural wood, grain, knots and colour vary, and large pieces can differ by up to about an inch.
Dust with a soft dry cloth, keep the piece out of standing water and long hours of direct sun, and refresh oiled finishes with a wood oil once or twice a year.
