Biomorphic Solid Wood Sculptural Display Shelf
Biomorphic Solid Wood Sculptural Display Shelf
Honey-amber grain climbs in long vertical lines, broken here and there by a dark knot. The Biomorphic Solid Wood Sculptural Display Shelf is hand-carved from solid wood with no veneer, and every ridge is sanded to a smooth, warm finish.
Carved, Not Assembled
The appeal lies in the carving. Undulating ridges catch light and shadow, so the piece reads as sculpture whether it is fully styled or nearly bare.
Living With It
Solid wood makes the piece heavy, so lift with care when placing it. Day-to-day care is simple: wipe the timber with a soft, dry cloth.
- Solid wood: hand-carved throughout, no artificial veneer
- Visible character: deep vertical grain, knots and honey-amber tones
- Hand-sanded: a smooth, tactile surface
- Easy care: dust with a soft, dry cloth
Sized to Suit
Height and proportions can be matched to your ceiling and room, with a bolder or slimmer carving available for an added cost. It sits comfortably in a living room, bedroom or reading corner beside an armchair or low table.
Solid wood shows small tone shifts, grain whorls and slight seasonal movement, which makes every piece different. Each one is handcrafted to order.
Shipping, returns & care
Shipping is free on U.S. orders of $75 or more; orders under $75 ship for a flat $5.95. We currently ship to U.S. addresses only.
This piece is handcrafted to your order by our partner artisan workshops: about 7-10 days of cutting and carving, then photos of your actual piece for your approval, then about a week of finishing and crating. It ships directly to you with tracking and arrives in another 3-7 business days - about 3-4 weeks in total. Contiguous U.S. only; contact us for Alaska or Hawaii. Full details on our Shipping Policy.
You can change or cancel this made-to-order piece within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund. Before finishing we send photos of your actual piece - once you approve them, it is final sale and cannot be returned for change of mind.
If it arrives damaged or defective, email us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we repair, replace or refund it at no cost to you. Natural variation in grain, knots and colour is part of handmade wood and is not a defect.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. See the full Refund Policy.
Choose your size from the options above; every measurement is listed in the size names and the description. Because each piece is cut from natural wood, grain, knots and colour vary, and large pieces can differ by up to about an inch.
Dust with a soft dry cloth, keep the piece out of standing water and long hours of direct sun, and refresh oiled finishes with a wood oil once or twice a year.
