Biomorphic Solid Wood Sculptural Bench
Biomorphic Solid Wood Sculptural Bench
A hollow opens through the backrest like a breath held in wood. The Biomorphic Solid Wood Sculptural Bench is carved from a large mass of solid timber, with one continuous curve forming arms, seat, back and legs, and it seats two.
A Single Flowing Form
The open back and sweeping legs create negative space that changes as the light shifts, laying moving shadows on the floor. Every edge and the rounded arm crests are hand-sanded until silky, so the piece invites a hand as much as a seat.
Grain on Display
There is no veneer here. Swirling growth rings, knot eyes and a warm honey-amber glow run across the whole surface, giving each bench its own pattern.
- Contoured seat: comfortable seating for two
- Open back aperture: a carved void through the backrest
- Heavy foot bases: sit flat on concrete, tile or hardwood with no brackets needed
- Substantial weight: two or more people should lift and place it
Where It Lands
It suits an entrance hall, a gallery-like corridor, an open living room or a bedroom suite. Length, height and seat depth can follow your space, and a bolder or slimmer profile is possible for an added cost.
Real wood shows small shifts in color and grain and moves slightly with the seasons. Each bench is handcrafted to order, one at a time.

This piece is handcrafted to your order by our partner artisan workshops: about 7-10 days of cutting and carving, then photos of your actual piece for your approval, then about a week of finishing and crating. It ships directly to you with tracking and arrives in another 3-7 business days - about 3-4 weeks in total. Contiguous U.S. only; contact us for Alaska or Hawaii. Full details on our Shipping Policy.
You can change or cancel this made-to-order piece within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund. Before finishing we send photos of your actual piece - once you approve them, it is final sale and cannot be returned for change of mind.
If it arrives damaged or defective, email us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we repair, replace or refund it at no cost to you. Natural variation in grain, knots and colour is part of handmade wood and is not a defect.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. See the full Refund Policy.
Choose your size from the options above; every measurement is listed in the size names and the description. Because each piece is cut from natural wood, grain, knots and colour vary, and large pieces can differ by up to about an inch.
Dust with a soft dry cloth, keep the piece out of standing water and long hours of direct sun, and refresh oiled finishes with a wood oil once or twice a year.
